How to embed a widget on Squarespace, Shopify, or GoDaddy
The snippet is the same
Widgeti gives you one snippet after you save. Each builder has a different box for custom HTML. Paste the whole snippet, then open the published page. An editor preview is not always enough, because some builders wait until publish to run a script.
Squarespace
Edit the page. Add a block and choose Code. Paste the snippet into that block. Save, then view the live page.
Add a Code block and paste the snippet. Squarespace does not promise that JavaScript in a Code block will run. Putting code in the page header is limited to higher plans. If the script does not run, keep the HTML and CSS, or use a hosted embed.
Shopify
From the theme editor, add a Custom liquid section on the page you want, or in a template you control. Paste the snippet. Save the theme and preview the store.
In the theme editor, add a Custom liquid section on a normal page or in the theme, then paste the snippet. Do not put it in checkout. Shopify does not take custom scripts there, and some theme sections ignore a script tag. Preview the theme before you publish.
GoDaddy
Open the website builder page. Add a section, choose HTML, and paste the snippet. Publish, then load the public URL.
In the GoDaddy website builder, add an HTML section and paste the snippet. Open the published page to see if it runs. The builder keeps HTML. Whether a script runs depends on the builder you are using, so the live page is the check.
If the script does not run
Keep the HTML and CSS from the snippet if the builder accepts those. For behavior that needs JavaScript, use a hosted embed from Widgeti instead of pasting the script into a builder that strips it. Check the live page after either choice.
Want to see the code first? Paste it on the try-it page. Saving it needs a free account.
