How to save and reuse ChatGPT-generated widget code

Copy the code, not the chat

When ChatGPT writes a widget, copy the HTML it shows. Include the style and script tags if they are part of the snippet. Leave the explanation in the chat. The explanation is not part of the widget.

If the reply is only a description and no code, ask for the HTML again. Widgeti stores code, not a picture of the chat.

Preview it before you create an account

Open the try-it page and paste. The preview runs inside the page. It cannot send a visitor to another site or read Widgeti’s cookies. The same cleaner used on saved widgets runs first.

If the code had an outside script, a tracker, or a redirect, Widgeti leaves that part out and shows a note under the preview. A snippet over 50 KB does not preview. Nothing on this page is saved, and it does not use an AI try.

Save a copy you can open later

Create a free account when you want to keep it. Free stores 5 widgets and does not ask for a card. Each save keeps a version, and you can restore an older one.

Open the widget next week, change a sentence or a color, and copy the snippet again. That is the reuse. The code is not stuck in the chat log.

Generate with AI inside Widgeti is separate. It drafts a widget from a description and uses one of your monthly tries. You do not need it if ChatGPT already wrote the code.

Put the same widget on a site

Paste the copied snippet into WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, or GoDaddy. The pasted copy remains if you cancel.

Turn on a live embed only when you want one save to update every page that loads it. You can use the copy and the live embed for different pages.

Want to see the code first? Paste it on the try-it page. Saving it needs a free account.
